The Langkawi Cable Car or Panorama Langkawi is a major attractions in Langkawi Island, Kedah, Malaysia. It provides an aerial link from Burau Bay Resort at Teluk Burau to the peak of Gunung Machinchang, the location of the Langkawi Sky Bridge. The total length is 2.2 km (1.4 miles). It was officially opened on 2003. Langkawi Cable Car is located on the southwest coast of Langkawi Island. There are 3 stations along the cable car line, i.e. Base Station, Middle Station and Top Station. This cable car will bring visitor all the way up to 708 meters at the summit of Gunung Machinchang. The journey covers a total distance of 2.2 km linking the Base Station at the foothill of Gunung Machinchang to the overruling height of the Top Station, at an incline of 42 degrees. The cable car is a fully automatic detachable funicular system. With traction provided via a continuously moving rope loop, the gondolas can be operated to provide an uninterrupted service with zero waiting times. The system has a maximum capacity of 700 persons per hour with a maximum line speed of 5 m/s. Langkawi Cable Car's Top Station, standing at 708m above sea level - holds two viewing platforms that allows for an amazing view that goes right up to southern Thailand. Another unique attraction to the Langkawi Cable Car is the Langkawi Sky Bridge. The bridge is located atop of the Machinchang mountain and forms part of the Gunung Machincang Geo-eco Tourism Park. The sky bridge hangs at about 100m above the ground, swinging out over the landscape to give visitors a unique spatial experience. Measuring 125m in length, the structure ranks among the world’s longest curved suspension bridge. Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125 metres (410 ft) curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia.
